Dama Asia is a multiple award-winning bi-lingual theatre company. It aims to produce and present theatre works of the highest quality. Established in 1994, Dama – literally Big Horse in Mandarin – has presented over 50 productions to date. The company is well known for their blending of East-West harmonies in their musical performances.
Dama’s productions have been staged to critical acclaims and full houses in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia and China. They have also showcased their works at international music festivals, including the WOMAD Singapore, Rainforest World Music Festival, Suzhou Silk & Bamboo Music Festival, Huayi Festival of Arts and Volvo World Music Festival.
Musical theatre works are the mainstay of Dama’s activities. The company has also expanded its creative works into plays, operas, education and entertainment services.
